If you wish to enjoy your holidays and still be confident that you are in good hands, hiring a skipper is the best thing you can do. Skipper on board means not only security and no stress atmosphere but also benefits of local knowledge which is crucial during sailing holidays.
Skipper has all the local contacts and knows the best harbours, restaurants, bars, and sights in every place.
That means even if you have some sailing experience, we would suggest hiring some of our professional skippers because his local knowledge has no price. That is what makes your holidays relaxed and complete.
If weather is not good, you can always adopt to that and find some alternatives. If boat is not good, that can also be fixed and things could be better.
But if you don't have a good skipper, that can't be resolved.
That is where we step up, just let us know your preferences (age, gender, smoker/non smoker, languages spoken etc...) and we will provide you a skipper who will make sure you have trip of a lifetime!
Who should select skippered charter?
Guests who don't have enough experience and valid license to operate the boat, but also for the ones who have enough experience but wish to take it easy and benefit from skipper's detailed local knowledge.
Duties of a skipper
Our skippers have long experience in the charter business in Croatia. They all have registered company in Croatia and they speak (besides Croatian) at least one foreign language fluently.
Their responsibility is to examine the boat during check in, indtroduce the crew to main boat parts and safety matters, advise the crew with potential route and incoming weather situation.
The route is tailored depending of weather situation and client's needs.
Skipper's fee
Daily fee is from 220-260 euro depending of boat size + client is responsible for the skipper's food. Normally the crew members eat the food onboard during the day and in the evening custom is to offer 30 euro for dinner per person.
In case guests would like crew members to join them for dinner, that can also be arranged. Payment to the skipper has to be done in cash during check out.
It is important to know that skipper has to be alert 24/7, therefore enough sleep is crucial. That is why the client should plan one cabin for the skipper (most of catamarans have separate cabins for the crew).
We always say - try to have confidence in your skipper, he is there to make your holidays best possible, so mutual respect is crucial.
He can be your friend if you like, or "invisible" if you prefer privacy.
