Summary of a troubled year 2020

2020 will be a year to forget to many. But not to us.... We learned how to be happy with less Summary of a troubled year 2020

2020 was very challenging. In january Covid-19 virus appeared in China and soon enough spreaded around the whole world. Every day the news were reporting about new victims of this new worldwide problem. Croatia didn't have large numbers (people with infection) so it was considered we were successful in that area. There was a complete lockdown in march and april. Schools were closed in order to minimize to numbers. Borders as well...But when tourist season came close, it was obvious Croatia has to open up, in order to save the economy. That happened in the beggining of july.

Many people didn't want to travel in these stressed conditions. Air traffic was specially affected. Many countries forbidden their citizens to leave the borders. Therefore, the list of nations who could actually visit Croatia was quite different than previous years. Croatian citizens realized this is the year to actually see their country. Of course, the market reacted by dropping the prices in most areas. So we basicly relied on tourists who could visit Croatia with their cars. Our customers this year were from Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Germany, Austria and Belgium. Italy and Spain were very troubled with Covid 19 during july so they were not allowed to enter before august.

Our first group was from Croatian capital, Zagreb. Their dream for many years was to sail along the coast. This year the boat prices dropped so more people could actually afford such a pleasure. Our guests enjoyed their week in central Adriatic. They visited Telascica, Kornati, Skradin, Rava, Kaprije, Žut and Vrgada.

Our next group was two nice families from Munchen, we enjoyed organizing their one way sailing on Lagoon 40, from Split to Dubrovnik. They managed to explore Brač, Vis, Lastovo, Korčula and Mljet. This week was full of great weather, fantastic swimming spots and amazing food in local taverns.

Overall, we are satisfied with the results we made despite the obstacles on the road. We learned how to be flexible and adopt to problems which can always appear in the sensitive business like tourist industry. No matter what happens in the future with Covid-19, the whole world will need to learn how to live and create along with it in the neighborhood.
